On Saturday, June 8, the Kappa League for the Bowie/Mitchellville Alumni Chapter (BMAC Nupes) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. concluded another impactful year; hosting their 2023-2024 Basketball and Senior/Award Recognition Outing. Additionally, we were able to commemorate a year that included recognition as: the Eastern Province Jay Crosby Award winner/Guide Right Program of the Year; the Eastern Province Leon R. Steward Award (2nd place); the DMV Kappa League Quiz Bowl Champs (1st place); host our Inaugural BMAC Guide Right Beautillion; and a 2nd place finish as the "Best Non-Profit Float" in the city of Bowie's Memorial Day Parade.

However, the true highlight was our Diamond Foundation awarding $20,000 in book scholarships to our sixteen (16) high school graduates. Most impressively, among our sixteen seniors were two (2) valedictorians of their respective high schools:

9) Ryan Cleaveland (Middle Tennessee State University)

10) Ryan McCord (North Carolina Central University)

11) Daniel Miller (McNeese State University)

12) Jaden Anderson (Montague Blount University)

13) Derek Streeter, Jr (South Carolina State University)

14) Jaden Anderson (Stevenson University)

15) Dewayne McKinnon, Jr (Florida A&M University)

In 2023, The Diamond Foundation and Kappa League Committee of The Bowie-Mitchellville Alumni (MD) Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. hosted a phenomenal Kappa League Senior Scholarship Brunch and Award Ceremony. The BMAC Diamond Foundation honored our deserving Kappa League Seniors by presenting them with over $10,000.00 in scholarship funds. The following BMAC Kappa League Seniors received congratulatory book scholarships while announcing their college of choice:

This event also showcased the many gifts and talents of our BMAC Kappa Leaguers as well as commemorated another successful year for the BMAC Kappa League/Guide Right programs, as our Kappa Leaguers were presented with many superlative awards and certificates of achievement.
